The world: Coreatures are living data left behind by a fallen, highly advanced civilization, sleeping in ancient crystals called Arc-cores (Archive Cores) among its ruins. Your Arcbracer, a bracelet with six Arc-core slots, holds your Coreatures and projects them into real bodies, one at a time; your phone is its screen.
Explore the ruins room by room. Walk through a doorway to go to the next room. The map in the top corner shows where you've been; the red room is the boss.
Doors lock when wild Coreatures appear. Beat them all to open the doors again. The sign over each doorway shows the reward waiting in that room (a cyan crystal Arc-core Shard is data for your party). Walk over coins and berries to pick them up; berries heal.
Move with WASD / arrow keys, or the thumb-stick on touch.
Attack with 4 moves: left click, right click, Shift + left click and Shift + right click (or JKL;), or tap the move buttons. Moves auto-aim at the nearest wild Coreature.
Dodge with Space, the DODGE button or a gamepad trigger: your Coreature darts the way you're moving and nothing can hit it for a moment. It recharges in under a second.
Swap Coreatures with the SWAP button or Q. In a fight the action keeps going while your next Coreature is deployed, and swapping has an 8 second cooldown. The Arc-cores under your Coreature's health show the whole party's HP.
HP carries over between rooms. If your whole party faints, the run is over. Fainted Coreatures get back up with a bit of HP on each new floor.
Recruit rooms (an Arc-core on the map) let you pick 1 of 3 Coreatures to join your party, as many as your Arcbracer has slots for. Release Coreatures from the Party screen in the pause menu.
Restore your Coreatures by beating wild ones: the one that's out gets all the data, the rest of the party half. The bar under its health fills up and its stats grow with it. At 25, 50 and 75% a memory comes back: pick a lost move or a strength. At 100% a Coreature Restores into its next form (the stage, I, II, III, shows next to its name), or is fully restored and keeps growing. An altar deep in the ruins can take a fully grown Coreature even further.
Corrupted Shards (magenta and cyan) hold lots of data but corrupt the Coreature that takes one; unlike other pickups they don't come to you, so it's your choice. At 100% corruption it turns Glitched: Glitch becomes its second type, it hits harder but has less HP, and it learns Fatal Error. An altar can cleanse it. Glitched wild Coreatures drop them.
The shop (yellow on the map) sells healing and relics for coins. Treasure rooms (white) hold a free relic. Relics are artifacts of the old civilization: they last the whole run and change how your moves work.
Beat a Coreature as a boss to unlock it as a starter for future runs.
Beat the boss to open the stairs down. The run is 9 floors in three acts; after each boss, two staircases appear, one for each of the next act's areas, and you choose the route. Beat the Archive's Warden on floor 9 to win the run.
Endless runs never stop: the floors keep coming and keep getting tougher. See how deep you can go.
Esc or P pauses (or tap the phone), M mutes. Gamepads work too.
